Three of the five Cash Day winners were on hand this Wednesday to collect their prizes. First prize of $205 went to Mrs. Alvin Loveless, Lincolnville. Third prize of $10 was claimed by Mrs. Wilmer Siebert and fifth prize of $5 by John Huna.
A number of young folks enjoyed a picnic and get-together Sunday evening at Wolfs’ cottage at the lake in honor of Tim Burkholder who is visiting here from New York. Present were Dorothy Sandwell, Jeannine Brose, Sarabel Wolf, Betty Young of Topeka, Tim Burkholder, Kerns Allen, Dennis Youk, Jim Garrison and Bob Reinke.
Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Tiemeier announce the engagement of their daughter, Shirley, to Jerry Tuell, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Tuell. The date of the wedding will be announced later.
Boy Scouts enrolled at the Kiwanis Youth Camp in Palmer, Colorado, include Junior Wiebe, Bruce Wingerd, David Montgomery, Wayne Thies, Wayne Johnston, Earl Winter, Kenneth Bowers, Dennis Navrat, Greg Henry, Mickey Seaton and Oscar Davies.
Seventy-two people met at the city park Sunday for a picnic. All were descendants of the Kelsey family. After the picnic, they enjoyed visiting at the Donald Kelsey home.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fickertt of Peabody were hosts at the monthly meeting of the Marion County press group Saturday for a picnic at the county lake.
