The first Continental bus rolled through Marion Wednesday afternoon, the first time since June when a strike was called by the drivers.

The Marion Warriors traveled to Herington last Friday evening and completely wrecked the Railroaders by the score of 39-7. “Sugar” Ray Richmond was the touchdown king of the game, making four of the Warrior scores.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bernhardt, owners of Marion Hardware, announced expansion plans this week with the announcement of the purchase of the building in which the store is located.

Juniors of Marion High School have chosen “No More Homework” for their class play to be presented Nov. 9. The cast includes Carol Krispense, Al Konarik, Susan Olin, Howard Stenzel, David Montgomery, Jeanette Russell, Don Winters, Nancy Keazer, DeLoris Reed, Bruce Wingerd, Kay Navrat, Arlene Klein, Jerry Stage, Dick Hoch, Marion Summervill, Judy Coons, Roma Collett, and Carmen Siebert.

This issue’s “Hospital Notes” report the birth of Bradley Lynn Hedstrom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hedstrom, Burdick, on Oct. 9 and that of Timothy Mark Holub, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Holub, on Oct. 10.

Band director Kenneth Swanson and his wife and Mrs. Opal Propp took a number of band members to Emporia Friday evening for the United States Navy Band concert.
