The newspaper starts the New Year with the first in a continuing series of pictures and brief facts about construction and location of new homes. This week the featured home is that of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vinduska and daughters Pamela, six, and Patty, one. The three-bedroom home is located at 326 N. Roosevelt.

A number of engagements announced this week included those of Shirley Ann Stenzel and LeeRoy Palmer, Dorothy Sandwell and Dennis Youk, Janice Decker and Marvin Kline, and Betty Harder and Paul Lange,

The $25 first prize in this year’s outdoor Christmas decorations went to the Glenn Kline residence. Winning second prize, $20, was the Frank Fisher home. Third prize, $15, was awarded to Al Bernhardt; fourth, $10, Henry Collett; fifth, $7.50, D.B. Jantz; 6th, $7.50, James Meisner; 7th, $5, Floyd Yaussi; 8th, $5, Wayne Varenhorst; and 9th, $5, C.E. Cook.

Alvin Bentz, Tampa farmer, was victim of an unusual injury last week. He was trying to drive a 600-pound boar back into the pen from which it had escaped when the hog bit him in the thigh. The wound took eight stitches to close.
