Perhaps the finest feature of the long ranch-style suburban home of Mr. and Mrs. David Wheeler and family is the view of the Kansas sunsets from a high vantage, unobstructed by man or nature. The latest of the new homes portrayed is located at 707 S. Freeborn. Ralph Popp is the builder.

The nation’s two top singers, Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney, are teamed in Paramount’s first Vista Vision production of “White Christmas” due to open tonight at the Kaw Theatre.

John Reed Williams, outstanding Marion High School senior, received a telegram from Senator Andrew Schoeppel this week saying he has been named first alternate for an appointment to the Annapolis Naval Academy. John is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Williams of Marion.

Miss Dorothy Pollitt and Mrs. Clara McKay were in Wichita Tuesday where they viewed the household display at the Forum with the kitchens of the early day displayed alongside the modern efficiency kitchens. It was a most interesting display.

Marion Boy Scouts will pick up waste paper on the hill after school tomorrow, Friday. Residents having newspapers, magazines or other paper should have them stacked on the parking or porch by the time school is dismissed.
