Work on rebuilding the fire-weakened wall at the Wheeler building, Main and Fifth streets, is almost finished. Part of the old YMCA wall, which extended farther north than the Wheeler building, has been torn down.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl E. Hett, Marion, announce the engagement of their daughter, Patsy Rea, to A/2c Monty C. Frazier, son of Mrs. Maurie Frazier, Marion. No wedding date has been set.

Births announced include Monica Christine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Konecny of Wichita, born Feb. 25; Patrick Dennis son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Heinz, born Feb. 26; Jane Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Florian Vinduska, born Feb. 28; and Michael Albert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Jirak of Tampa, born March 1st.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hett of Aulne are one of the couples in Marion County’s Balanced Farming and Family Living program. They are working with Douglas Morris, assistant county agent and other extension agents in the county, on farm and home improvements.

Special ordination services will be held Sunday morning at First Christian Church to honor E.J. Buckley and Nodie Baker for their long and consecrated work in the field of Christian endeavor.

City crews started this week on general spring cleanup and repair of streets, alleys and other city facilities.
