This week’s featured new home in Marion is the attractive brick veneer home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ollenberger and son Bryce at 202 N. Cedar. Arranged for convenience throughout, with many handy built-in cabinets, the home was built by Irvin Jost of Hillsboro.
Hunting airborne in a Piper Vagabond owned and piloted by Bill Munsterman, Charles Nesser and Raymond and Elmer Otte have had a lot of fun and better than ordinary luck since the first of the year with their coyote hunting. They have operated in a six to seven mile radius of the Munsterman farm north of Antelope and have bagged a total of 39 coyotes.
Mrs. Wayne Varenhorst was in Kansas City the first of the week buying spring merchandise for Van’s Dress Shop.
Babies born this week at St. Luke Hospital include Diana Mae, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wencel Holub, born March 18; a daughter, Jeanne Carolyn, born March 19 to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wood; Doranne Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Snelling, born March 21; and Melinda Lou, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hett born March 21.
The first day of spring didn’t bring spring-like weather. Instead there was a blizzard and temperatures dropped dramatically. Cold, north winds with freezing temperatures and snow replaced the record-breaking warm weather of last week.
