Marion County first and second grade students will be offered the miraculous anti-polio Salk vaccine April 28 in a countywide vaccination for these 711 students. This will be the first of two inoculations.

Marion’s First Methodist Church was the setting April 17 for the wedding of Miss Sarabel Wolf, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Gordon Wolf, and Mr. Clair Garrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Garrison, Emporia.

MHS’s one-act play was among 22 high schools competing in the state high school one-act play festival at Lawrence Saturday. The play, which took first in district and county meets, was selected to receive a Class I rating, along with eight other schools.

Deanna Klenda celebrated her birthday at her home Friday with six friends, Mary Jo and Sharon Klenda, Nancy Vinduska, Karen Schroeder, Marsha McCartney, Donna Newsom, Faith Kelsey, and Sandra Jackson.

Carol Krispense, Marion High School Y-Teen, was chosen among 10 Kansas Y-Teen delegates to take part in a centennial commemoration service next Sunday morning at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Mrs. James Loney and Mrs. Robert E. Nelson are going to Wichita Saturday to hear Guy Lombardo and his orchestra. They plan to have dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Loney.
