Long a dream, the ambition to own a Jaguar has finally become fulfilled for Henry Holub, one of Marion’s most avid motor fans. Henry took delivery of the two-seated, red sports roadster at the Port of Houston last week, after the car had been shipped from England where it was manufactured.

Wilbur Melcher is a “do it yourself” hobbiest and he did a lot of work on his home, pictured on the front page of this issue. The Melchers and their son, Gary Wayne, live in the home, located at 212 South Freeborn, which was designed and planned by them.

Mrs. Dale Cavender entertained August 3 with a birthday party for her daughter Claudia, 11 years old. Guests were Charlotte Langley, Georgie Helmer, Janet Whitlock, Deanna Kimball, Connie Fisher, Marsha McCartney, Donna Newsom, and Carol Kline.

Wedding write-ups in this issue included those of Ilene Dondlinger and Robert Reinke, August 4; Marilyn Hayen and Robert Geis, July 31; Mary Lynn Hein and Homer Mohn, August 4; and Janice Meisner and David Carlson, July 24.

Mrs. Roger Morse took a group of young folks to Hillsboro for a swimming part last Tuesday. A picnic supper was enjoyed afterward at the Morse home. Present were Charlotte and Helen Langley, Judy Richards, Mary Melton, Johnnie Hoover, and Dick and Jean Morse.
