Another in the constantly growing parade of new homes in Marion is that of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Buethe at 225 North Cedar. Mr. Buethe, a local builder, completed the home about two years ago. He and Mrs. Buethe are completely satisfied with it and cannot think of any changes they would make if they were to do it over today.

Dean Duke, county sanitarian, was chosen vice president of the Kansas Sanitarians’ Association at a meeting in Wichita Oct. 19-20.

Claude W. Ayler, popular rural carrier on Rural Route 2, Marion, since June 1, 1930, will officially retire Oct. 31. He started in the mail service as a clerk in the Newton post office in 1924 before transferring to Marion.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lalouette of Florence celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 23 by renewing their vows at St. Patrick’s Church in Florence. Her cousin Mrs. Victoria Bauer, Wichita, and brother Emile Soyez, Marion, original attendants at their wedding, attended the couple.

Skelly Oil Co. and Wm. W. McKibbin signed final papers the first of the week transferring the McKibbin property across from the city park to the oil company. Skelly’s Marion station adjoins the property on the west and the Schimpf Dairy Queen joins on the east. The old building has obscured the view of both places.
