Jackson’s Clothing Store announced this week they have leased the former J.C. Penney location and will move into it sometime in April. The present location of Jackson’s is a block west and is owned by Case & Son.

John Waner, well-known farmer living southeast of Marion, was appointed this week by the county commissioners to be the new superintendent of the Marion County Park and Lake.

A new school in Korea was dedicated last week to the memory of Father Kapaun, Pilsen, army chaplain who died in the communist prison camp during the Korean War. The school is named Father Kapaun Memorial Technical School and is at Kwangju, 250 miles south of Seoul.

Mack Hardware store in Marion will close out its entire stock of merchandise and will quit business at their location on Main Street. They will concentrate more with their hardware and lumber business, Mack Welling Lumber and Supply in Marion.

The combined choirs from Emmanuel Baptist, Strassburg, Youngtown EUB, Steinreich, Christian, Evangelical UB, Presbyterian and Methodist churches will present the cantata “Seven Last Words of Christ’ at the city auditorium Sunday evening.
