Proposed consolidation of four high school districts in the north part of the county will be the decision of the citizens of those districts at a special election in each district April 30.

John Waner was officially installed as superintendent of the Marion County Park and Lake on Monday of this week.

Marion High School’s one-act play, “The Last Curtain,” that has won highest ratings at CVL and district meets, was taken to the state speech and drama festival at Lawrence Saturday and again came away with top honors, a No. 1 rating. Cast of the play included Dick Hoch, Carmen Siebert, Bruce Wingerd, Roma Collett, David Montgomery and DeLoris Reed.

Members of the Antelope school and their teacher, Mrs. Earl Hoffman, visited a number of places in Marion Thursday morning. The pupils are Joyce and Virginia Dody, Mack and Larry Bowyer, Sandra, Bill, Bob and Mary Sue Weathers, and Harvey and Frances Sanders.

Jackson’s, popular local store featuring men and boy’s clothing, shoes and luggage, has moved to its new location in the former J.C. Penney Company building.

Capt. John R. Wheeler, son of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Wheeler, is stationed at Frankfurt, Germany. Capt. Wheeler is an expert on jumping horses. He will be one of the army personnel to officially greet members of the American Olympic team of jumpers at Frankfurt, who are due there this week.
