Marion Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring an “Industrial Clinic” Monday evening at the city building. Representatives from the Kansas Industrial Development Commission, the state Chamber of Commerce, and Kansas State College will conduct the meeting. It will concern the recent industrial survey made in Marion.
A total of $9,005 has been given away during the past two years by Marion businesspersons who are contributors in the weekly “Cash Wednesday” series. Winners in this week’s drawing were Mrs. Robert Richmond, $65; Mrs. Fred Scheffler, $15; and George Weber, $5. John Williams, Marion, and Daisy Van Tuyl, Burns, were not present when their names were called.
The city water well test on the Chas. Bredemeier property south of Antelope seems to have turned out well, with a good quantity flow on the initial tests last week and of quite good quality water.
Next year’s Marion High School cheerleaders were selected Wednesday morning by the student body. Those chosen as first team cheerleaders were Mary Lou Conyers, Margie Bernhardt, Maxine Hinz, Donna Kelsey and Darlene Oblander. Second team cheerleaders will be Joyce Pientka, Patsy Slusser, Jeanne Kline and Ethel Brunner.
