The proposal to consolidate high schools at Lincolnville, Lost Springs, Ramona, and Burdick was approved at a special election Monday by a combined vote of 355 to 122. The vote was Lincolnville 130 for, 60 against; Ramona, 54-8; Lost Springs 61-4; and Burdick 110-50.

David Montgomery received word this week he is to report to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, on Monday. He will fly from Wichita to Annapolis on Sunday.

Another of the many attractive new homes on the south hill is the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hoover and two-year-old daughter Sandra. The house, located at 201 S. Freeborn, was built by Phil Stenzel, father of Mrs. Hoover.

Births announced in the week’s “Congratulations” column include James Kent Richmond Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Richmond of Marion, born June 14 at St. Luke Hospital; and Sharon Sue Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Anderson of Marion, born June 15 at St. Luke.

Vincent Mastek, Tampa, announces the engagement and approaching marriage of his daughter, Frances Elizabeth, to Eugene Malir, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Malir, Wilson. The wedding will take place July 19.

School day friends gathered Sunday at Marion Country Club for a reunion of the 1946 graduating class of Marion High School.
