A movement has been started to get the issue of a municipal swim pool on the ballot in November. The State Board of Health today recommended the present pool at the Marion Country Club by closed after this season. The issue is being brought to question in order that the Country Club may know what to do with their present pool.
The following girls had a slumber party Monday night at the Claud Dixon home: Deloris Schafers, Joyce Pientka, Johnsie Just and Pat Dixon. The party was in honor of Deloris’ birthday.
Seymour Foods, Inc. presented Safe Drivers’ Certificates on Saturday to C.J. Ecker and Rudy Deines, 17-year gold pins; Henry Sklenar, 9-year certificate; Bill May and Harry Hamm, 3-year certificates; and Henry Klose, 2-year certificate.
Mrs. Edward Good invited several small friends and their mothers in Tuesday afternoon in celebration of her son, Mike’s, third birthday. Present were Eric Meyer and his mother, Mrs. Bill Meyer; Doug Keazer and Mrs. Harold Keazer; Dean Ensey and Mrs. T.C. Ensey, Karen Pankratz and Mrs. Earl Pankratz; and Pamela and Mrs. Alden Slusser.
Sgt. Bill Markham, paratrooper in the Army, arrived Wednesday after 18 months spent in Indo-China where he has been connected with the American Embassy. He will visit relatives in Burlingame and Marion during his 30-day furlough.
