Sister M. Maurice, superintendent of St. Luke Hospital, said this week that construction on the new wing to the hospital would begin in January. Plans for the 110-ft. extension to the west of the present emergency entrance will provide a recreation room, larger kitchen, emergency room, and 18 more patient beds.

MHS homecoming queen was crowned Friday at halftime ceremonies of the game with the Florence Wildcats. Pictured is Queen Darlene Oblander surrounded by attendants Mary Williams and Rosalie Tajchman. The girls’ escorts were Jim Christensen, Junior Bledsoe, and Neil Hoopes. Marion won the game with a score of 19-0.

Pat Longhofer had Donna Jost, Rosalie Dohner, Eileen Pavey, Tressie Miles, Pat Holcomb, Geraldine Davis, and Julie Wooldridge as guests for a slumber party Friday night after the football game.

There was much interest in the birth of triplets to Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Winter about 13 years ago and now the three boys have a sister born Oct. 19 at St. Luke Hospital.

Nine big game hunters came back Friday from mountain territory northwest of Leadville, Colorado, proudly carting ten fine deer. In the party were Lawrence Blankley, Walt Hiebert, Dave Leppke, Ivan Winters, S.R. Kugler, Paul Schlehuber, Allen Goertz, Ernie Leppke, and Archie Leppke. They made the trip in a station wagon and camped out at night.
