The jolly old gent in the red suit and whiskers will arrive in Marion shortly before 3 p.m. this Saturday. He will go to the City Building to get last-minute instructions from his young friends, and to give them each a bag of treats.

The Tampa Triple T’s 4-H Club is sponsoring a coyote hunt Dec. 28 to be starting at 10 a.m. at the Tampa Grade School. Lunch will be served be the 4-H club at noon.

The annual Christmas dinner and party for employees of the Central Kansas Cooperative Creamery was held Thursday evening in the Marion City Building with 180 persons in attendance. The Dorcas Society of the Lutheran church here served the dinner.

A year ago, three mothers were in St. Luke at the same time when their babies were born. Tuesday evening, the same mothers, their husbands, and children were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pasley for dinner and the evening. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Fruechting and daughter, Claire Lynn; Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Hett and sons, Eddie and Eldon; and the Pasleys, their son George and their year-old daughter, Lynn.

Visitors to Marion have been loud in their praises of the beautiful display of Christmas lights. One, from New Mexico, said “this is the prettiest of any city we saw on our way here.”If you haven’t taken time for a tour around town, take your family and make an evening circuit.
