The community meeting held last Monday night in the Marion High School auditorium approved the proposition of submitting to the city voters the question as to whether or not they would like to see a modern swimming pool built here within the next year.

Patsy Harris, Marion, is one of the 13 candidates for the title of “Co-ed Cowgirl” at Kansas State College. The co-ed will be chosen on appearance and ability to ride a horse.

The Sunshine 4-H Club went to Clay Center Saturday where they received a red ribbon for their presentation of the play, “Wilbur Takes His Medicine.” Members of the cast are Evelyn Richmond, Donna Rae Ehrlich, Laura Jane and Dick Bredemeier, and Max Mathiot.

Bob Turner drove to Bartlesville, Okla., Friday afternoon for a visit with Wayne Leavitt Jr. Wayne is an engineer in a radio station there. He returned to Marion with Bob on Monday for a short visit.

Mrs. C.J. Ecker gave a party the afternoon of March 21 in honor of the fourth birthday of her grandson, Robbie Ecker of Wichita. Guests were Mrs. R.L. Ecker and Cheryl of Wichita, Mrs. Bob Bailey, Johnny and Susie, Mrs. Jack Summerville and John Robert, Charlotte and Helen Langley, and Johnny Voth of Houston, Texas.
