The post offices at Aulne and Canada will be closed at the end of this month and the patrons of those two communities will get their mail in the future from Homer Stiller, Marion carrier on Rural Route 1.
Mr. and Mrs. E.F. (Brownie) Schroer closed their Cozy Café Saturday night for a period of two weeks, possibly longer. Mr. Schroer has been a victim of a painful attack of arthritis for several weeks.
Mrs. Virgil Weber entertained Friday afternoon with a party in honor of her daughter, Kathleen Anne, to celebrate her third birthday. Guests were the following children and their mothers: Galen and Ginger Helmer, Rita Kay Kreutziger, Theresa Seifert, Marsha Childs, Steve Patton and Junior and David Gooding.
T/Sgt. Milton (Mike) Lee visited Sunday with his aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and Albert Holder, Mike is on his way to Fairbanks, Alaska, from Mitchell Field, N.Y. His wife and four children will stay in Kansas City while he is in Alaska.
Four new cheerleaders were elected at Kansas State last week. Mary Hannaford, daughter of Norma Hannaford, was chosen as one of the new members of the cheering squad.
Born this week at St. Luke Hospital was Kathyleene Jo Sterling, Daniel Joseph Navrat, and Michael Ralph Edmunds.
