A large booster caravan of Peabody folks made all the neighboring towns this Wednesday promoting interest in the big rodeo and dedication of the athletic field lights on May 25 and 26. Governor Carlson will make the dedication speech

Four students of the flight school at Marion Airport soloed this week. They were Mart Sanders, Richard Noone, Fiennes Jantz, and Dean Schroeder.

Thirty-eight Marion boys and girls will take part Thursday night in graduation exercises from Junior High School. The program in the high school auditorium will feature special numbers by Dan Brodhead, Peggy Weibert, June Bailey, Sarabel Wolf, Dale Hobein, John Newcomer, Alice Ward, Patricia Henry, Mary Margaret Hannaford, and Claire Hyde.

This weekend will be big days in the lives of young baseball players up to 17 years old. Tryouts will be held Saturday and Sunday to choose players who will make up the Marion American Legion junior baseball team. Dr. O.C. McCandless has been named manager with Arnold Schwemmer as coach and E.F. Nelson as assistant coach.

About 40 students of the Lincolnville grade school and their teachers are in Marion today, Thursday, for their last day of school picnic. A special matinee at the Kaw Theatre has been arranged as a part of the entertainment.
