“Bill” Pickering
James W. “Bill” Pickering, 64, died July 22 at his home in Marion.
Born Aug. 13, 1944, in Eureka he was raised by his grandparents, Otice and Georgia Vest. He married Margaret Parks on Sept. 2, 1967 in Eureka.
He taught business and physical education and coached football and golf at Marion High School for 15 years. He later worked in maintenance and transportation.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Ashlee of Wichita; and half-sisters, Shelia Shue of Eureka and Debbie Hall of Humboldt.
Services were Sunday at Marion Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Jeremiah Lange presided.
