These accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Sunflower Road near 150th

A 1998 Dodge pickup, driven by Brian E. Estey, 50, 229 W. Third St., Florence, was traveling north on Sunflower Road at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 29, when the vehicle went into an east ditch where it struck a culvert marker. The marker was not damaged.

Kanza Road near 160th

A deer was struck and killed at 7:35 a.m. Sept. 30 on Kanza Road when the deer entered the road as Mindy Renee Richmond, 31, 1489 Kanza Road, Hillsboro, was northbound in a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta.

U.S. 56 near Bison Road

Mildred Suzann Ponce, 46, 122 N. Lincoln St., Marion, was westbound in a 2009 Nissan passenger car on U.S. 56 at 9:37 a.m. Oct. 3, when a deer entered the road and was struck.

200 block of South Ash Street, Hillsboro

Two vehicles collided at 4 p.m. Oct. 3, when they were backing from driveways onto South Ash Street. Carol Ann Riggs, 60, 506 W. Grand Avenue, Apt. 1-B, Hillsboro, was driving a 1995 Eagle Summit, backing from the drive at 203 N. Ash Street when Jennifer Lynn Rader, 30, 202 S. Ash St., was backing a 2004 Ford Explorer from her drive and the vehicles collided.

Brody Allan Rader, 6, of the same address as the driver, was a passenger in the Ford.

U.S. 77 near 120th Road

A 1999 Volkswagen Beetle went off U.S. 77 at 9:25 p.m. Oct. 3, driving on an east shoulder, when Isabella Herrera, 21, Olathe, overcorrected while attempting to re-enter the road, entered an east ditch, and came to rest in a tree row.

The driver and a passenger, Austin Lavayen, 24, of the same address as the driver, were transported by Florence ambulance to St. Luke Hospital, Marion.

The vehicle was registered to Michael Shawn Payne of Sequim, Wash.

U.S. 56 near Indigo Road

A deer ran into the right side of a 2001 Lincoln Town car at 8:15 a.m. Oct. 4, on U.S. 56m driven by Lauren W. Enns, 83, 806 240th Road, Hillsboro.

Luetta Enns, 82, of the same address as the driver, was a passenger.

260th Road near Old Mill

Aaron Matthew Bina, 17, 304 S. Cedar St., Marion, had pulled his 1997 Oldsmobile passenger car to the side of 260th Road at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 to check a tire. Edward P. Vinduska, 51, 2523 Old Mill Road, was driving a 2009 Ford pickup eastbound and did not see the Oldsmobile because of dust. The pickup sideswiped the car and entered a north ditch. Vinduska overcorrected, returned to the road sideways, and overturned on the driver’s side.

Vinduska was transported by helicopter to Via Christi on St. Francis Street, Wichita. Bina was not injured.

200 block of East First Street, Hillsboro

Mary F. Pankratz, 44, 207 S. Washington St., Hillsboro, was westbound in the 200 block of East First Street in a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 10, when Denise Ann Schwartfeger, 48, 202 E. First St., Hillsboro, was backing her 2002 Ford Taurus from the driveway of her residence. The Oldsmobile swerved to try to avoid the collision but the vehicles collided.
