Old Mill Road near 50th

Ronald W. Schroeder, 55, 8938 NW 170th Road, Burns, was driving south on Old Mill Road at 11:15 a.m. Jan. 2 in a 2004 Dodge truck, when a deer struck the side of the vehicle and was killed.

120th Road near Limestone

Cody W. Delk, 15, 1139 Limestone Road, Peabody, was driving a 2002 Acura sports vehicle west on 120th Road at 12:10 p.m. Jan. 2, when he lost control of the vehicle, entered in to a north ditch, and rolled on to the top of the vehicle. The vehicle is registered to Christina Darlene Delk, same address as driver.

Intersection of East Grand Avenue and North Washington Street, Hillsboro

Two vehicles collided at the intersection of East Grand Avenue and North Washington Street, Hillsboro, at 5:14 p.m. Jan. 10, when a 2006 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Marcel W. Benda, 78, 2020 280th Road, Marion, attempted to cross the intersection but became stuck in the snow. A 1993 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Thomas Riesen, 25, 304 S. Adams St., Hillsboro, was also crossing the intersection and could not avoid the collision. Irma Benda, 66, of the same address as the driver, was a passenger in the Chevrolet.

200 block of South Floral Drive, Hillsboro

Seth Alan Bartel, 17, 2541 Eagle Road, Lehigh, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup at 8:45 p.m. Jan. 12 in the 200 block of South Floral Drive, Hillsboro, when the vehicle slid on ice, causing the driver to lose control and strike a light pole on the passenger side of the pickup. The pickup was registered to Steven D. Bartel, of the same address as the driver.

Milepost 289 U.S. 50 near Nighthawk Road

Peggy J. Blackman, 70, 1120 E. Highland St., Marion, was driving a 2002 Chrysler van east on U.S. 50 at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 15, when a deer entered into the path of the vehicle and was struck. Weldon Blackman, same address as driver, was a passenger.

Milepost 99 U.S. 77 near 140th Road

Nicholas Robert Cocking, 22, Wichita, was driving south on U.S. 77 at 7:05 a.m. Jan. 16 in a 2003 Pontiac passenger vehicle, when the driver fell asleep behind the wheel. He awoke in time to miss hitting a guardrail on a bridge, but overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle causing it to strike the east side of the bridge. The vehicle is registered to Jeff D. Cocking of Wichita.

601 S. Main St., Hillsboro

A garage at 601 S. Main St., Hillsboro, was damaged at 1:20 p.m. Jan. 17, when a 1987 Pontiac passenger car, driven by Juanita M. Harrison, 49, 202 E. F St., Hillsboro, was driving from an off-street, private parking space, crossed the street following a driveway to the residence, and struck the garage. The driver had stated she had hit a bump in the street and then drove across the street and struck the garage.

Ash Street and Orchard Drive

A 2005 Ford pickup, driven by Silas W. Hibbs, 23, 108½ N. Main St., Apt. 4, Hillsboro, bumped the rear of a 1992 Chevrolet Geo, driven by Joseph A. Brundage, 50, 703 N. Chestnut St., Peabody, at 11 a.m. Jan. 22, while the Chevrolet was stopped for traffic at a stop sign at Ash Street and Orchard Drive, Hillsboro. Lisa Brundage, 41, of the same address as the driver, was a passenger in the Chevrolet.

1 Park Avenue, Hillsboro

A garage door was struck by a 1997 Chevrolet passenger car at 10:40 a.m. Jan. 23 at 1 Park Avenue, Hillsboro. The driverless car rolled into the garage door. The car was owned by Kermit O. Ratzlaff, 1 Park Avenue, Apt. 106, Hillsboro.
