Lakeshore Drive near 170th Road
Kenneth S. Christensen, 77, 21 Echo Lane, Marion, was driving a four-wheeled, all-terrain vehicle on Lakeshore Drive near 170th Road at 5 p.m. April 21, when a dog entered the road, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and fall off. The driver was transported by a private vehicle to St. Luke Hospital.
U.S. 56, five miles west of Hillsboro
A 2005 Ford van, driven by Douglas D. Jackson, 46, Newton, drove into the rear of a 2011 Dodge passenger car, driven by Douglas D. Burch, 54, Newton, at 1:20 p.m. April 28 on U.S. 56, five miles west of Hillsboro, in a construction zone. Both vehicles were eastbound when the accident occurred. Burch had possible injuries and was transported to Hillsboro Community Hospital.
1700 block of Sunflower Road
A deer entered the road in the 1700 block of Sunflower Road and was struck and killed at 6:15 a.m. April 30 by a 2000 Mercury Sable driven by Janice Faye Peter, 65, 421 S. Cedar St., Marion.
K-150 near Xavier Road
A 2004 Pontiac Grand Am struck and killed a deer that was standing on the road on K-150 near Xavier Road at 9:25 p.m. May 1. Lusinda Faye Eash, 20, Haven, was westbound on K-150 when the accident occurred.
U.S. 56 near Jade Road
Leland D. Albrecht, 71, 834 U.S. 56, Hillsboro, was eastbound on U.S. 56 near Jade Road at 7:45 a.m. May 5 in a 1998 Oldsmobile van when a deer came from a south ditch and was struck and killed.
