The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Smith Street near Chicago Street, Lost Springs:

An unknown vehicle struck a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup owned by Adella M. Katz, 200 Chicago, Lost Springs, at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 20, 2008, while it was parked on Smith Street near Chicago Street. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Larry Starkey reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

170th Road near Diamond Road:

Alexander S. Drake, 19, Canton, was westbound on 170th Road near Diamond in a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup at 2:30 a.m. Dec. 23, 2008, when he struck a pothole before crossing a bridge. The left front tire blew out and caused the vehicle to go out-of-control, crossing into another lane, and hitting a road sign. The driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty.

290th Road near Quail Creek Road:

Christopher A. Will, 24, 1978 340th, Lost Springs, was westbound on 290th Road near Quail Creek in a 2001 Ford Explorer at 8:24 a.m. Dec. 24, 2008, when he lost control on ice, spinning into a south ditch. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Travis Wilson reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Goldenrod Road near 190th Road:

Anthony J. Herandaez, 25, 604 Grand, Hillsboro, was northbound on Goldenrod Road near 190th Road in a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup at 9:14 a.m. Dec. 24, 2008, when he lost control on ice, spinning him into a ditch. Deputy Wilson reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Sunflower Road near 180th Road:

Tyler S. Miesse, 23, 2251 U.S.-56, Marion, was southbound on Sunflower Road near 180th in a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier at 11 a.m. Dec. 24, 2008, when he lost control on ice, striking a post in an east ditch. Erin R. Pentz, no age listed on the accident report, Macksville, was a passenger in the vehicle. The vehicle was registered to Linda S. Pentz, of the same address as the passenger. Deputy Wilson reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Sunflower Road near 180th Road:

Lisa A. Adame, 34, Moreno Valley, Calif., was southbound on Sunflower Road near 180th in a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe at 11:20 a.m. Dec. 24, 2008, when she lost control on ice, sliding into an east ditch. The vehicle was registered to Eagene Vazquez, of the same address as the driver. Deputy Wilson reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

190th Road near Nighthawk Road:

Ramon Sanchez, 50, Newton, was eastbound on 190th Road near Nighthawk in a 1994 Ford Ranger pickup at 5:45 a.m. Dec. 25, 2008, when he lost control on the ice, spinning out-of-control, and went into a north ditch, rolling onto the right side. Deputy Starkey reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-50 near Nighthawk Road:

Noel J. Royer, 37, Topeka was eastbound on U.S.-50 near Nighthawk Road in a 2000 Chevrolet Expedition at 6:05 p.m. Dec. 27, 2008, when he lost control of the vehicle on the icy roadway and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then rolled down the embankment on the south side of the road. Passengers were Michael Culberston, 22, Eugenia Royer, 42, Maritnia Royer, 4, Maggie Royer, 9, and Mariah Royer, 11, all of the same address as the driver. Marion County Undersheriff Randal Brazil reported Noel, Michael, Maritnia, and Maggie were transported to Newton Medical Center by Peabody EMS. Eugenia was air-lifted by LifeTeam to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. Mariah also was air-lifted by Eagle Med to Wesley Medical Center.

U.S.-56 near Limestone Road:

Katie Sue E. Williams, 21, Galva, was eastbound on U.S.-56 near Limestone Road in a 2007 Pontiac G6 at 6:05 p.m. Dec. 25, 2008, when a deer came from a south ditch and was struck. Deputy Starkey reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

60th Road near Peabody Street:

James H. Morris, 21, 11703 NE 96th, Peabody, was westbound on 60th Road near Peabody Street in a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup at 5:24 p.m. Dec. 27, 2008, when a dog came out of a north ditch. Morris stopped before hitting the dog and an unknown vehicle struck the rear of the pickup and left the scene. The pickup was registered to Luke Morris, of the same address as the driver. Deputy Wilson reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

150th Road near Diamond Road:

Howard D. Schmidt, 70, 1631 Falcon, Hillsboro, was eastbound on 150th Road near Diamond in a 1990 Mercury passenger car at 6:10 p.m. Dec. 29, 2008, when two black, white-faced calves came from a south ditch and were struck. Deputy Starkey reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

Nighthawk Road and 110th Road:

Kyla K. Ruhl, 46, 603 N Walnut, Peabody, was southbound on Nighthawk Road at the intersection of Nighthawk and 110th roads in a 2002 Kia Sport at 7 a.m. Dec. 30, 2008, when a deer came from an east ditch and struck the driver’s side. Deputy Wilson reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

Jade Road near 70th Road:

Helen M. Stanford, 48, 1104 E. 80th Street, Peabody, was northbound on Jade Road near 70th in a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander at 6:50 p.m. Dec. 31, 2008, when a deer came out of a west ditch and was struck. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Matt Vogt reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

360th Road and Remington Road:

Mario J. Corona, 38, Herington, was eastbound on 360th Road at the intersection of 360th and Remington roads in a 1995 Chevrolet passenger car at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 31, 2008, when he lost control of the vehicle, entering a south ditch, striking a stop sign, and overturning. The vehicle was registered to Chris and Philip Peterson, Burdick, and was reported as stolen. Undersheriff Brazil reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
