The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

U.S.-50 near milemarker 305:

Dayne W. Koehn, 22, Stover, Mo., was westbound on U.S.-50 near milemarker 305 in a 2008 Kia at 4 p.m. Nov. 26, when a deer came out of a north ditch and was struck. The owner of the vehicle was Enterprise, Kansas City, Mo. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Travis Wilson reported the driver was not injured and more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-56 near Adams Street, Hillsboro:

Vanessa D. Cain, 44, Sylvia, was westbound on U.S.-56 near Adams Street, Hillsboro, in a 2005 Ford Taurus at 7:55 p.m. Jan. 6, when she looked down and her vehicle entered a south ditch, striking a mailbox and culvert. Ronnie Cain, 48, same address as the driver, was a passenger. Marion County Undersheriff Randall Brazil reported the driver was transported by Lifeteam 21 to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. There was no information on the report regarding injuries to the passenger.

U.S.-56 near Quail Creek Road:

Todd A. Clark, 40, Great Bend, was eastbound on U.S.-56 near Quail Creek Road in a 2005 Kenworth truck at 1:20 a.m. Jan. 9, when two deer ran from a north ditch and were struck. Marion County Sherriff Deputy Larry Starkey reported the driver was not injured and more than $1,000 in damages.

Remington Road near U.S.-56:

Lynette M. Kendrick, 31, 2754 Redbud, Marion, was southbound on Remington Road near U.S.-56 in a 1996 Saturn passenger car at 7:16 a.m. Jan. 9, when a deer came from an east ditch, causing the vehicle to go out of control and sliding backward into an east ditch, hitting large rocks. Marion County Sherriff Deputy Duane McCarty reported the driver was not injured and more than $1,000 in damages.
