The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
200 block of North Main Street, Hillsboro:
Sonya J. Fisher, 57, 214 S. Cedar, Hillsboro, was backing from a parking stall in the 200 block of North Main Street, Hillsboro, in a 2005 Ford 500 at 11:01 a.m. Jan. 5, when her vehicle struck a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Matthew H. Classen, 75, 538 S. Freeborn, Marion. Hillsboro Police Officer Brad Richards reported there were no injuries.
200 block of South Wilson Street, Hillsboro:
Kenneth Buller, 81, 309 N. Birch, Hillsboro, was backing from a private drive in the 200 block of South Wilson Street, Hillsboro, in a 1988 Chevrolet pickup at 11:45 a.m. Jan. 9, when his vehicle struck the driver’s door of a vehicle parked in the street. The vehicle, a 1996 Ford pickup, was owned by Douglas B. Dick, 206 S. Wilson, Hillsboro. There were no injuries, reported Hillsboro Assistant Police Chief Jessey Hiebert.
Ash Street near First, Hillsboro:
Lane Dyck, 56, 628 350th, Tampa, was northbound on Ash Street near First Street, Hillsboro, in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 12, and pulling a flatbed trailer. According to Hillsboro Police Officer David Funk, the wind blew off some of the cargo on the trailer, which struck the hood and driver’s side of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, owned by Elcon Services, which was parked on the street. The officer reported there was more than $1,000 in damages.
D and Adams streets, Hillsboro:
Keith Christian, 18, 516 S. Washington, Hillsboro, was stopped at a stop sign at the corner of D and Adams streets, Hillsboro, in a 1998 Saturn passenger car at 8:23 a.m. Jan. 15, when a 1994 Chevrolet passenger car, driven by Toby Jones, 18, 212 N. Prospect, Lehigh, slid on the snow-covered street and struck the rear of the Saturn. The Saturn was registered to Coral D. Christian of the same address. Assistant Police Chief Hiebert reported Christian was injured and transported by Hillsboro EMS to Hillsboro Community Medical Center.
