The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Sunflower Road near 90th Road:

Molly A. Smith, 22, 706 Hudson, Marion, was southbound on Sunflower Road near 90th Road, in a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 27, when she lost control on ice, hit a bridge, and rolled the car on its side. The vehicle was registered to Tyler Smith of the same address as the driver. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Travis Wilson reported no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Sunflower Road near 140th Road:

Jennifer R. Wyss, 27, 510 N. Freeborn, Marion, was northbound on Sunflower Road near 140th Road in a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee at 1:30 a.m. Feb. 5, when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Passengers in the Jeep were Courtney Wyss, 1, and Gage Branson, 6, both of the same address as the driver. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott reported the passengers were not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-77 near 40th Road:

Bradley J. Hodgson, 32, Belle Plaine, was northbound on U.S.-77 near 40th Road in a 2006 Peterbilt truck at 1 a.m. Feb. 19, when the truck entered a west ditch and overturned onto the driver’s side. The truck was registered to Bar H Trucking, 1767 140th, Marion. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Larry Starkey reported the driver was injured and was airlifted by Life Team to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

K-15 near 120th Road:

Rachel M. Abbas, 15, Newton, was northbound on K-15 near 120th Road in a 2000 Chrysler Sebring at 11:36 a.m. Feb. 22, when she drove on the east shoulder, over-corrected to the left causing the vehicle to slide sideways into a west ditch. The vehicle flipped and rotated 180 degrees. The car was registered to Devon Stahl, 110 N. Buller, Goessel. Passengers in the car were James C. Abbas, 49, and Kami J. Harris, 14, both of Newton. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty reported the driver and James Abbas were transported to Newton Medical Center by Marion County EMS and Harris was transported to Newton Medical Center by Hesston EMS, all with possible injuries.

U.S.-50 near Yarrow Road:

Benjamin Swartz, 52, Clay City, Ky., was westbound on U.S.-50 near Yarrow Road in a 2007 Peterbilt truck at 8:40 p.m. Feb. 25, when a deer came from a south ditch and was struck. The truck was registered to East West Trucking Company, New Albany, Ind. A passenger in the truck was Geneva A. Swartz, 58, of the same address as the driver. Marion County Undersheriff David Huntley reported no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-56 near Quail Creek Road:

Robert Meisinger, 70, 17 Lakeshore Drive, Marion, was westbound on U.S.-56 near Quail Creek Road in a 2001 Chevrolet S-10 pickup at 2:20 p.m. Feb. 26, when two deer came from a south ditch and one was struck. Undersheriff Huntley reported no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Vista Road near 330th Road:

Steven M. Detjen, 27, 3370 Vista, Lost Springs, was northbound on Vista Road near 330th Road in a 1985 Ford pickup at 12 p.m. Feb. 28, when he lost control on sand, entered a west ditch, rolling the truck on its top. Passengers in the truck were Jerry Roberts, 21 and Judy Roberts, 33, of the same address as the driver. Judy Roberts was taken to Herington Municipal Hospital by Tampa EMS, reported Deputy Wilson.

U.S.-50 near U.S.-77:

Roy G. Stout, 79, Montrose, Colo., was eastbound on U.S.-50 near U.S.-77 in a 2005 Ford Focus at 11:05 p.m. March 2, when he did not see the roundabout and drove the median, jumping a curb causing damage to his vehicle. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Matt Vogt reported no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

800 block of East D Street, Hillsboro:

Michael Pihl, 21, McPherson, was westbound on D Street, Hillsboro, in a 2003 Chevrolet passenger car at 1:45 p.m. March 7, when he had a seizure and struck a wooden fence in the 800 block of East D Street, reported Assistant Hillsboro Police Chief Jessy Hiebert. The car was registered to Nancy Pihl, 312 S. Ash, Hillsboro. The driver was transported to Hillsboro Community Medical Center by Hillsboro EMS.

150th Road near Goldenrod Road:

Julie E. Starks, 26, 1411 Pawnee, Marion, was westbound on 150th Road near Goldenrod Road in a 2004 Ford Focus at 5:15 p.m. March 10, when a deer came from a south ditch and struck the driver’s side rear door. Deputy Starkey reported no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

190th Road near Old Mill Road:

Michael J. Ratzloff, 35, 1717 190th, Marion, was westbound on 190th Road near Old Mill Road in a 1995 Chevrolet pickup at 5:15 p.m. March 13, when a turkey flew in front of the truck and was struck, causing the truck to enter a north ditch and roll on its top. Machelle Ratzloff, 40, of the same address, was a passenger. Deputy Philpott reported the driver was airlifted by Lifeteam to Wesley Medical Center and the passenger was transported to St. Luke Hospital by Marion Ambulance.

Remington Road near 190th Road:

Tyler Richmond, 22, 331 S. First, Marion, was southbound on Remington Road near 190th Road in a 2000 Ford pickup at 7:30 a.m. March 15, when he lost control entering an east ditch, hitting a culvert which sent the truck airborne for approximately 20 feet and coming to rest in the northbound lane of Remington Road. Deputy Wilson reported no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
