The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

U.S.-56/77:

Carol A. Houdyshell, 56, Wichita was northbound on U.S.-56/77 in a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder at 11:10 a.m. April 16 when she entered a construction zone, slowed down and was struck in the rear. Ruth Kaiser, 63, 2916 Wagonwheel, Linconville, was driving a 1992 Pontiac Grand Am when she struck the Nissan. Melvin R. Funk, 57, 1818 N. Mustang, Hillsboro, was a passenger in the Nissan. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Travis Wilson reported no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Diamond Road near 150th Road:

Donna K. Spoonemore, 46, 384 140th, Hillsboro, was northbound on Diamond Road near 150th Road in a 1998 Ford Taurus at 8:30 p.m. April 17, when a deer came from an east ditch and was struck. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty reported the driver was not injured.

U.S.-50 near U.S.-77:

Steven W. Scroggins, 48, Caldwell, Ark., was westbound on U.S.-50 near U.S.-77 in a 2007 Kenworth truck at 12:15 a.m. April 20, when he struck an unknown object in the road, which penetrated the bottom of the left side fuel tank. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Larry Starkey reported no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages. The truck was registered to Con-way Truckload of Joplin, Mo.

140th Road near Union Road:

Loretta G. Looney, 40, 516 S. Third, Marion, was eastbound on 140th Road near Union Road in a 1998 Ford Explorer at 6:47 a.m. April 23, when she fell asleep. When she awoke, she ran over a large rock and struck a tree. Deputy McCarty reported that Looney was transported by a personal vehicle to St. Luke Hospital, Marion, with possible injuries.
