The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

U.S.-56/77 near 240th Road:

Antoinetta A. Correll, 32, Andover, was northbound on U.S.-56/77 near 240th Road in a 1991 GMC Jimmy at 5:50 a.m. Nov. 3 when a deer came out of an east ditch and was struck. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Travis Wilson reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

Sunflower Road near 140th Road:

Stephanie N. Abbott, 19, 108 E. First, Hillsboro, was southbound on Sunflower Road near 140th Road in a 2001Pontiac Sunfire at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 28 when a deer came out of an east ditch and struck the driver’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle was registered to Beverly, J. Fleming, of Pagas Springs, Colo. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

Remington Road near 280th Road:

Barbara A. Tajchman, 62, 3071 Pawnee Road, Lincolnville, was northbound on Remington Road near 280th Road in a 2007 Chevrolet vehicle at 5:40 p.m. Nov. 25 when a deer came out of an east ditch and was struck. Deputy McCarty reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

190th Road near Kanza Road:

David B. Buller, 23, 305 N Ash, Hillsboro, was westbound on 190th Road near Kanza Road in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup at 9:53 a.m. Dec. 5 when a deer came out of a north ditch and was struck. Deputy Wilson reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-56/77 near 360th Road:

Derek A. Lorson, 27, Galva, was northbound on U.S.-56/77 near 360th Road in a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am at 2:21 p.m. Dec. 5 when a deer came out of a west ditch and was struck. The vehicle was registered to David L. Long, of Manhattan. Deputy Wilson reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-56 near Remington Road:

Raymond E. Remmers, 64, 208 S. Lincoln, Hillsboro, was eastbound on U.S.-56 near Remington Road in a 2007 Buick passenger vehicle at 6:50 p.m. Dec. 7 when a deer came out of a north ditch and was struck. Theresa M. Remmers, 62, of the same address, was a passenger in the vehicle. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Larry Starkey reported the passengers were not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

Indigo Road near 100th Road:

Gary D. Wohlgemuth, 51, Wichita was southbound on Indigo Road near 100th Road in a 2001 Ford Windstar van at 9:10 p.m. Dec. 7 when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Reed Wohlgemuth, of the same address, was a passenger. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott reported the passengers were not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-56 near Kanza Road:

Frank G. Thompson, 53, Drexel, Mo., was eastbound on U.S.-56 near Kanza Road in a 2006 Kenworth truck at 11:10 a.m. Dec. 8 when a deer came out of a north ditch and was struck. The truck was registered to American Central Transport, Liberty, Mo. Marion County Undersheriff Randall Brazil reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-50 near Sunflower Road:

Edwina H. Kollmar, 61, Cartersville, Ga., was eastbound on U.S.-50 near Sunflower Road in a 2006 Volvo diesel truck at 1:34 p.m. Dec. 9 when the truck hit an icy spot on the highway and jacked-knifed in the roadway. The truck was registered to U.S. Express, Oklahoma City, Okla. Undersheriff Brazil reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-77 near 140th Road:

Matthew L. Druse, 22, 314 N. Third, Marion, was northbound on U.S.-77 near 140th Road in a 1995 Chevrolet pickup at 4:00 a.m. Dec. 13 when a deer came from a west ditch and was struck. The truck was registered to Donald G. Druse, 809 Weldon, Marion. Deputy McCarty reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.
