2100 block of Remington Road

Mary Morrison, 56, of 1877 190th Road, Marion, struck a deer at 6:35 a.m. Sept. 8 while southbound on Remington Road, in her 2001 Chrysler.

1900 block of Holly Road south of U.S. 56

Austin Case, 23, of Emporia, stated over telephone at 9:11 a.m. Sept. 2 that he may have fallen asleep at the wheel of his 1995 Chevrolet pickup while southbound on K-15 at 10 p.m. Sept 1. He continued through U.S. 56 onto Holly Road where he awoke as he was heading into the east ditch. The car struck a farm disc, owned by Norman Galle of 1994 Holly Road, Hillsboro, parked on private property. Case reportedly left the scene and failed to report the accident

U.S. 56 a half mile north of 360th Road

Brenda Odgers, 48, of 229 N. Cedar St., Marion, stated she fell asleep at 8 a.m. Sept. 2 while driving her 2002 Subaru northbound on U.S. 56. The car ran off the roadway right and hit a barbed wire fence and a utility pole; the fence is owned by Steven Schild of 2824 BB Avenue, Burdick. No injuries were reported.

290th Road near Zebulon Road

Kendall Harding, 16, 2201 BB Avenue, Burdick, swerved to miss a coyote 12:30 a.m. Sept. 4 while eastbound on 290th Road in a 1989 Dodge truck registered to Konley Harding, of the same address. The driver went into a south ditch and rolled the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

U.S. 56 near Sunrise Road

Abigal Burns, 20, of Leon, was westbound on U.S. 56 in a 2002 Chrysler passenger car 8:20 a.m. Sept. 1 and saw another vehicle stopped on the highway waiting to turn onto Cedar Street heading toward Marion. Burns said she realized she was not going to able to stop in time, steered to the right, and struck a stop sign at 1021 N. Cedar Street. No injuries were reported. The Chrysler was registered to Jerry Burns of the same address.

1900 block of Chisholm Trail Road

Stephen McCombs, 31 of 210 S. Schmidt Lane, Lehigh, was northbound on Chisholm Trail Road 9:30 p.m. Sept. 1 when his 1993 Ford passenger car caught fire. There was fire damage to the entire car but McCombs escaped the vehicle without injury.
