U.S. 50 at Nighthawk Rd.

Glenn E. Kyle, 89, 2139 30th Rd., Peabody, and Matthew A. Shuflat, 30, 1615 W. Crawford St., Wichita, collided at 11:03 a.m. Dec. 2. Kyle was driving a 1999 Dodge van registered to Arlie E. Overton, 130 W. Main St., Marion, and Shuflat was driving a 2000 Chevrolet pickup registered to KTR Pro LLC, 5716 N. Seneca St., Wichita. Kyle was taken by Peabody ambulance to Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita. Shuflat had a possible injury but was not transported. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Mustang Rd. north of 330th Rd.

Sheila Denise Brown, 35, 309 C St., Ramona, didn’t see a train coming, tried to drive across the tracks, and was struck by a train in a 1980 Chevrolet pickup registered to Tatge Chemical Co. Inc., 607 N. D St., Ramona. Brown and passengers Clint L. Kidd, 31, same address, and David A. McCarty, 19, 601 Lincoln St., Tampa, had possible injuries but none were transported by ambulance.

Deer strikes

Clara A. Holub, 51, 519 N. Freeborn St., Marion, struck and killed a deer with her 2008 Chevrolet sedan at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2 on Sunflower Rd. south of 160th Rd.

Richard D. Durst, 66, 501 S. Christian St., Moundridge, struck a deer with a 2011 Ford pickup registered to Bradbury Co. Inc., 1200 E. Cole St., Moundridge, at 4:15 a.m. Dec. 3 on K-15 south of 120th Rd.

Toni K. Downs, 56, 13177 S.W. Tawakoni Rd., Augusta, struck a deer with her 2011 GMC sport utility vehicle at 2:10 p.m. Friday on U.S. 56/77 south of 280th Rd. The vehicle had to be towed.
