Emmalee Jo Hett, 22, 309 N. Lincoln St. of Marion, veered off the right side of the road while traveling southbound on Ash St., jumped the curb, and struck a metal speed limit sign with a 2007 Pontiac sport utility vehicle registered to Donna J. Hett, 2208 Gilham Rd., Marion. She also broke half the plastic covering off an electric pole guy wire during a corrective maneuver. Police reported no injuries.

Karen Renee Kelly, 52, of 361 S. Falling Leaves Dr., Waxahachie, Texas, lost control and spun off an icy roadway in her 2006 Volvo at 1 a.m. Jan. 11 when another driver tried to pass her, lost control, and struck her car. The other driver did not stop. Police reported no injuries.
