Sunflower Rd. south of 140th Rd.

Kendra Renae Zimmerman, 22, 608 S. Cedar St., Hillsboro, struck a deer with her 2007 Honda sedan, went into the ditch, rolled her vehicle, and struck a sign post at 11:30 p.m. May 1. Zimmerman suffered a possible injury and was taken by ambulance to St. Luke Hospital. The vehicle had to be towed.

110th Rd. east of Goldenrod Rd.

Michael Wayne Jay, 38, 1167 Goldenrod Rd., Hillsboro, and Randall M. Eitzen, 1224 100th Rd., Hillsboro, sideswiped when they met at the crest of a hill at 8:30 a.m. May 5. Jay was driving his 1990 Subaru sedan, and Eitzen was driving his 2009 Chevrolet pickup. Police reported no injuries.

Deer strikes

William R. Mathias, 67, 9 N. D St., Herington, struck and killed a deer with his 2008 Mercury sedan at 8:40 p.m. May 1 on U.S. 56/77 south of 260th Rd.

James D. Loewen, 67, 1446 Limestone Rd., Hillsboro, struck a deer with his 2008 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle at 9:15 p.m. May 3 on 140th Rd. east of Jade Rd.
