According to accident reports released this past week:

SHERIFF

Mustang Rd. south of 80th Rd.

Shannon Rives, 41, Peabody, was taken to Newton Memorial Hospital after her vehicle sideswiped an oncoming car at the crest of a hill at 9:44 a.m. April 20.

Rives’s 2013 Nissan Altima, owned by Ballard Aviation, Newton, was pushed into the ditch opposite her direction of travel. The other vehicle, a 1999 Lexus LX47 owned and driven by Christopher Grant, 33, Burns, ended up sideways in the road, facing the ditch. Both had to be towed.

Kristin Ghere, 33, Wichita, a passenger in Grant’s car, was listed as possibly being injured but was not taken to a hospital.

Rives was ticketed for allegedly driving left of center.

290th Rd. west of Nighthawk Rd.

Attempting to avoid an oncoming vehicle, Brandy Barney, 27, Tampa, drove her 2008 Ford Escape into a ditch, damaging the car’s right front, at 7 a.m. April 21.

Nathan Brunner, 30, Tampa, was ticketed for allegedly crossing the center line with his oncoming 2013 Ford F150.

US-50 at Nighthawk Rd.

Kimberly Klassen, 52, Hillsboro, was taken by ambulance to Hillsboro Community Hospital after she drove her 2001 Ford Escape into cross traffic on US-50 at 1:33 p.m. April 22.

The front of her car hit the left side of a 2010 Acura MDX driven by Douglas Brehm, 63, Wichita. Neither he nor passenger Carol Brehm, 59, same address, was injured.

Klassen was ticketed for allegedly failing to yield after stopping at a sign on Nighthawk.

Timber Rd. south of 250th Rd.

Mitchell Neuwirth, 28, Marion, dozed off at 4:19 a.m. April 23 and drove his 2001 Chevy C25 pickup off the road, hitting a culvert.

K-15 north of 240th Rd.

Rose Brasil, 70, Lakewood, Colorado, sustained what was reported as a minor hand injury when air bags in her 2016 Chevy Impala deployed after the vehicle struck a deer at 8:45 p.m. April 23.

The car had to be towed.

US-50 west of Pawnee Rd.

Leslee Patterson, 32, Wichita, hit a deer with her 2015 GMC Terrain sport-utility vehicle at 8:40 p.m. April 24. Neither she nor passenger Daegan Patterson, 8, Wichita, was listed as injured.
