Accident reports released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

Marion

Weldon and Freeborn Sts.

Brandon Farmer, 24, Marion, was westbound on Weldon St. in a 2014 Kia Forte when he struck a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country southbound on Freeborn St. driven by Joan Jost, 77, Hillsboro, at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, according to assistant police chief Clinton Jeffrey’s report.

Both vehicles suffered disabling damage and were removed by Auto House. Jeffrey indicated that Farmer was distracted by a mobile phone, but was he not cited. Jost was transported to St. Luke Hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

600 block of Main St.

Reanne Bryant, 18, Tampa, was stopped in traffic waiting to turn in the 600 block of Main St. when her 2002 Ford Focus was struck from behind by a 1999 Chevy Tahoe operated by Antone Vinduska, 17, Marion, at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, according to Jeffrey’s report.

Valerie Craney, 18, and Alexis Craney, 15, Marion, were passengers in Bryant’s vehicle. Jeffrey reported inattention as a contributing factor, but Vinduska was not cited. No injuries were reported.

SHERIFF

Quail Creek Rd. north of 160th Rd.

A teenage girl received minor injuries when a 2002 Ford F150 driven by Austin Neufeld, 17, Marion, and owned by Darin Neufeld, Marion, drove into a ditch on Quail Creek Rd. at 10:55 p.m. July 29.

The truck was northbound on as it reached the intersection at 160th Rd, where Quail Creek Rd. jogs left. Neufeld reportedly overcorrected and the truck struck a ditch.

Passenger Maleyah Thomas, 15, no address listed, was taken by Marion ambulance to St. Luke Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries, deputy Bronson Shipman’s reported. Neufeld and passengers Corrina Crabb, 16, and Alfwenna Meyer, 14, no addresses listed, were not injured. Shipman reported all four teens were wearing seatbelts.

The truck was driven away.

US-50 east of Alfalfa Rd.

Malfunctioning trailer brakes caught fire on a 2014 Peterbilt semi driven by Dale Finger, 56, Watertown, Wisconsin, at 5:30 p.m. July 26.

The trailer, owned by DDE Trucking LLC of Watertown, was not damaged.

Quail Creek Rd. north of 290th Rd.

Katherine Heiser, 56, Ramona, struck a deer with her 2011 Toyota Camry at 6:40 a.m. Aug. 2.

120th Rd. west of Holly Rd.

Jack Martin, 73, Hillsboro, struck a deer with his 1998 Chevrolet 2500 pickup at 5 a.m. Aug. 1. Martin drove home before reporting the accident.

US-77 south of 110th Rd.

Alison Sherwood, 20, Manhattan, was driving north in a 2002 Honda CRV at 9:40 a.m. July 31 when her dog reportedly jumped into her lap. The car left the road to the right and Sherwood overcorrected, causing the car to cross the road, slide sideways, and roll onto its passenger side, according to deputy Derek Fetrow’s report.

Sherwood was not injured. The car was towed.
