REPORTED

These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies.

SHERIFF

US-56 at Chisolm Trail Rd.

Passenger Vicki Simington, 52, rural Lehigh, was injured at 8:33 p.m. Dec. 17 when her 1999 GMC Denali, driven by Darrel Simington, 45, of the same address slowed to turn off the highway and was rear-ended by a 1998 Chevy S-10 pickup owned and driven by Jeremiah Ligget, 41, McPherson.

Approaching from the opposite direction, a 2018 Acadian Beaumont owned and driven by Tarsem Kandola, 43, Brampton, Ontario, struck debris from the collision.

Vicki Simington was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital by Tampa ambulance. Both vehicles involved in the initial collision had to be towed.

None of the drivers nor 10-year-old Denali passenger Morgan Ligget of the same McPherson address was reported injured.

Although deputy Bronson Shipman’s report blamed the accident on the Simington vehicle’s not having proper tail lights and failing to signal, no tickets were issued.
