Adeline Spangler

Adeline Frieda Matz Suffield Spangler died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at the age of 97. She was born Aug. 5, 1920, to William and Mabel Larsen Matz in Marion County, Kansas.

She graduated from Peabody High School in 1938 and worked many jobs during her lifetime, starting at age 16. In addition to being a homemaker and mother, her last job was working at Westview Nursing Center in Peabody for 26 years.

She married Lysle Robert Suffield on March 2, 1940, in the Lutheran Church in Peabody. To this union was born one daughter, Joyce Elaine.

Lysle died Dec. 29, 1944. Adeline then married Merle Spangler on June 8, 1950. Merle died in May 24, 1995. Adeline moved in April 2009 to Prairie Sunset Home to be near her family.

Survivors are her daughter Joyce Albright and her husband Darrel of Pretty Prairie; grandchildren Stephanie Gehring and husband Jay of Pretty Prairie, Amy Regier and husband Ken of Newton, and Mike Albright and wife Jennifer of Pretty Prairie. She also leaves
