A new Al-Anon group is forming in Marion County to provide support for women who have family members or friends with a drinking problem.

The group will meet 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays at Marion County Women’s Serenity, 2150 Schlotthauer, Marion, at Eastshore. Meetings will be anonymous and limited to women. The first meeting was Saturday.

Al-Anon was founded in 1951 as a support group for friends and relatives of alcoholics and problem drinkers.
