Young and old, farmers and city folks will gather in Hillsboro July 29 through Aug. 1 for the 79th annual Marion County Fair.
“Bringing Home the Bacon” is the theme of this year’s fair parade, which will be at 6:30 p.m. July 29, downtown Hillsboro.
That evening, there will be a watermelon feed, style revue, mutton busting, calf scramble, dog agility demonstration, and rodeo.
The musical group, The Greenhorns, will perform at 8:30 p.m., at the south end of the sports complex. KeBo Cyrus will follow at 9 p.m.
Following a day of judging projects and the bucket calf and beef show July 30, a rodeo, mutton busting, calf scramble, and entertainment will be in the evening. KeBo Cyrus will perform at 7 p.m. followed by T. Graham Brown at 8:30 p.m.
Livestock judging and sale, pedal pull, and antique tractor pull will be the order of the day July 31. Bucky Covington will take the stage at 9:30 p.m. with KeBo Cyrus performing prior to Covington.
The final day will wrap-up with airplane rides for children in the morning at Hillsboro Municipal Airport and a demolition derby and fireworks display beginning at 7 p.m. in the arena.
The evening concerts are fundraisers for Marion County Fire Chiefs Association.
