Retired farmer Allen Nuss, 87, of rural Newton died Sunday at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.

Born Dec. 14, 1924, in Hillsboro to Carl and Anna (Matz) Nuss, he married Virginia Mae Jost on June 12, 1949, in Hillsboro.

She, a son, and an infant sister preceded him in death. Survivors include sons Warren and Myron, both of rural Newton; daughters Nadine Roth of Kansas City, Kan., and Karen Cwirla of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; brother Leland of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Jost Funeral Home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Brett Huebner will preside. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with Lutheran Hour Ministries and Schowalter Villa.
