MARION SENIOR CENTER: Alumni meet for lunch
By JANET BRYANT
Senior Center correspondent
Marion Senior Center became a coffee meeting place Dec. 2 when several women who grew up and went to school in Marion needed a place to meet. They ate lunch at the center and stayed to visit.
Clayton Hamm celebrated his 80th birthday on Dec. 3 by bringing ice cream cups for patrons. His daughter, Shirley Riffel, also joined the lunchtime celebration.
After lunch, Gerry Henderson and Keith Allison led singing of Christmas music. Patrons sang the first verse of several Christmas carols because Henderson said, “everyone knows one verse.”
Marion High School Singers will perform at the next Senior Center Day.
