Amanda Wedel

Amanda Wedel, 90, Durham, died Dec. 11, 2008, at Moundridge Manor of Moundridge.

She was a homemaker.

Born June 27, 1918 in rural Tampa to Ben T. and Lavina (Koehn) Jantz.

She married Glenn O. Wedel June 27, 1945 in rural Tampa. He died in 1989.

She belonged to the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Morning Star Congregation.

Survivors include a son, Wendell and Linda Wedel of Durham; a daughter, Nadine and Roy Davis of Durham; two brothers, Obed Jantz of Fruitland, Idaho, and Willard Jantz of Atwater, Calif.; a sister, Lela Wedel of Durham; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday at Morning Star Church, rural Durham, with ministers Merlin Wiebe, Bruce Dirks, and Ransom Wiebe presiding.

Burial was at Logan Cemetery, rural Tampa.

A memorial fund has been established with the church.
