Annual toy run will be Nov. 2

The 20th annual Marion County Toy Run will be Nov. 2. The toy run has become a major benefactor for the underprivileged children of the county.

The event is sponsored by the Sons of American Legion Post No. 366, ABATE of Kansas District 9, and Route 56 Classic Cruisers.

Each participant is asked to donate one new toy as the entry fee. These toys, as well as donations and money raised at an auction and chili feed after the toy run, will be donated to community Christmas trees and area ministerial organizations to distribute to children.

Thanks to the Marion County community, more than $136,000 has been raised in the past 19 years.

This year’s toy run will begin at 1 p.m. Nov. 2 at Sher Bowl Lanes, 131 S. Thorp, Marion. Toys will be collected at Hillsboro State Bank followed by the auction and chili feed at Hillsboro American Legion Post No. 366.
