Auxiliary celebrates store's anniversary

Annual meeting is Jan. 20

Five years ago on Dec. 29, 2005, auxiliary members opened St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary Shoppe in downtown Marion.

The thrift store has been successful, raising money for St. Luke Hospital.

Volunteers, who have worked at the store by sorting, pricing, displaying, and selling donated items, were recognized Dec. 29 with a luncheon at the Historic Elgin Hotel and Bed and Breakfast, Marion.

Entertainment was provided by former KFDI radio personality Little Donnie Do Dad, accompanied on guitar by Bob Delk of Hillsboro.

The annual dinner and meeting of the auxiliary will be at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion. Reservations are $12.50 per person or $25 per couple and may be made by calling Eileen Sieger at (620) 382-2032. Reservations must be made by Jan. 15.
