To the Editor:

The annual Marion Chamber of Commerce Farm/City Banquet is Monday evening.

The purpose of the banquet is to meet farmers and ranchers face to face, and personally thank them for supporting local businesses.

The agricultural community contributes a great deal to the Marion economy and we business owners appreciate their support. A steak dinner is a small gesture of that appreciation.

The event also is a time for farmers and businessmen to visit and share information.

When a chamber member comes to your business and asks for a donation, please be generous, just as you have in previous years.

The cost of food, particularly meat, has dramatically increased. More funds are needed to offset those expenses.

The chamber hopes to continue this tradition that has been a part of the Marion community for more than 50 years but only can do it with donations.
