Beatrice K. “Bea” Martinez, 68, died at her home Saturday in Marion.

Born on Dec. 19, 1942, to James and Laurene Smith Cogdill in Strong City, she worked in the food service industry.

On Oct. 10, 1961, she married Raymond Martinez.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Martinez, and a grandson.

She is survived by her husband Ray of Marion; sons Marcos of McPherson and John and Reyes of Newton; siblings Judy Winter of Ness City, Mary McCarty and Butch Cogdill of Marion, and Jackie Weathers of Ponca City; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A Rosary was Monday, followed by a visitation, and Funeral Mass was Tuesday at Holy Family Parish, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Florence. Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Florence.

A memorial fund has been established with Hospice Care of Kansas in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.
