Engagement announced

Hallie Elder Bennett and Tyler Leinhardt of Honolulu, Hawaii, announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Harry E. and Margaret Bennett of Marion and Tom and Rojene Leinhardt of McFarland, Wisc., are the couple’s parents.

Grandparents are Harry W. and Leona Bennett of Blue Springs, Mo., the late Jack and Kay Elder, formerly of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Ruth Davis and Grace Aavang of Madison, Wisc.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Marion High School and the University of Kansas. She earned a master’s degree in urban and regional planning in 2009 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She volunteered for a year with Americorps, working for Hawaiian Community Assets and has continued employment there.

Her fiancé graduated from McFarland High School, Wisconsin, and earned an associate degree in hotel management from Madison Area Technical College. He is employed by Hilton Hawaiian Village, Honolulu.

A beach wedding is planned Feb. 16 on the island of Maui. The couple will continue to live in Honolulu after their wedding.
