Adeline Bernhardt will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Tampa Senior Center.

Her children, Barney and Linda Bernhardt and Carl and Kathy Hubbard will be the hosts with their families.

Bernhardt was born June 6, 1922, on a farm near Tampa to Adolph and Anna Bentz. She taught in a country school and at Tampa Grade School, worked at a sewing factory in Hillsboro, Havlik’s Grocery Store, and Centre USD 397. She retired in May 1987.

She married Ted Bernhardt on June 4, 1944. He died On Oct. 2, 2000. They had two children together, Barney Bernhardt of Wichita and Kathy Hubbard of Wellington. She has 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
