IN MEMORIAM:   Bertha Linnens

Bertha Marie Cain Linnens, 94, passed away Nov. 18, 2015. Bertha, born on a farm outside Cedar Point, Kansas, will be known for living every moment to the fullest.

She was a 1939 graduate of Cedar Point High School and served her community as a volunteer. She later served as mayor for 12 years.

She and her husband of 54 years, Ralph, had the bank in Cedar Point and enjoyed working alongside each other for over 40 years.

Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; daughter-in-law, Linda; and sister, Roberta West.

Survivors include her two sons, Maurice (Rita) and Barry (Carol), and their children Kelly and Julie Linnens, Callie and Carson of Hillsboro; Brad and Amy Remington, Payten and Avaree of Andover; Brian and Kami Linnens, Easton, Emerson and Beckett of Andale; Chris Linnens of Wichita; and Melissa and Josh Riesgo of Phoenix.

Viewing was Friday, Nov. 20, at Broadway Colonial, with family present for visitation from 4:30 to 6 pm.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at at Florence Christian Church, Rev. William D. Peterson officiating.

Interment was at the Cedar Point Cemetery following the service.

Memorials have been established with Legacy of John, c/o Kansas Christian Home, and Cedar Point Mill project.
