Both legislators to lead committees

Both of Marion County’s state representatives will lead legislative committees in 2017.

Rep. Don Schroeder (R-Hesston), whose district includes Hillsboro and most of the southern part of the county, will be chairman of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Budget Committee.

Rep. John Barker (R-Abilene), who represents Marion and most of the northern part of the county, will be chairman of the Federal and State Affairs Committee.

Schroeder also will serve on the Agriculture Committee and the Appropriations Committee. Barker also will be a member of the Health and Human Services Committee.
